The board unanimously approved a consent agenda that included the minutes of May 12 and claims to date. The approval motion was moved by Scott Adams and seconded by Chad Schall; the roll-call vote recorded Adams, Jarrod Conner and Schall voting aye and the motion carried.
Board members then approved a change to the regular meeting schedule. Scott Adams moved to change the meeting date to the second and fourth Monday at 5:00 p.m.; Jarrod Conner seconded. The motion passed unanimously with Schall, Adams and Conner voting aye.
Electric Superintendent Blake Waldow reported recent field work and equipment matters. Waldow said Pizza Hut’s electric service went down; after staff replaced the meter the replacement burned out. He told the board crews finished pole replacements on 6th and 7th Avenues and are continuing to change out additional power poles. Waldow also said staff are repairing and installing new wire at the airport, that Vermeer (noted in the packet as “Vermer”) will allow the department to demo a new boring machine, and that the department is awaiting input from engineering firm JEO on a proposed new substation.
Water/Sewer Superintendent Ryan Jones reported operational items for the water and sewer system. Jones said the tri-annual lead and copper samples are due; fiber was run from the well house to the swimming pool; a new recirculation pump was ordered; crews are jetting sewer lines in the northwest quarter of town; and the Christian School has asked to change from a 2‑inch water meter to a 1‑inch meter.
Chair Chad Schall moved to adjourn at 1:00 p.m.; Jarrod Conner seconded and the motion carried by roll call with Schall, Conner and Scott Adams voting aye. The board reserved the right to enter closed session as permitted by law, but no closed session was recorded in the minutes.
