The Leacock Township Municipal Authority voted unanimously Feb. 5 to replace three dissolved-oxygen (DO) meters at a cost of $31,627.31 and approved routine meeting minutes, bills and treasurer reports, the authority’s minutes show.
Frank Howe, secretary/treasurer of the authority, moved to approve the purchase of three DO meters; Jerry Reeser seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. The minutes record the purchase price as $31,627.31.
Bruce Ammon, the authority’s sewer operator, reported on plant operations and maintenance, saying the plant is "operating well." Ammon listed several recent actions: a #2 DO probe was installed; a new hot-water heater was placed; the mill was disconnected; Garden Spot Electric repaired an electrical issue on one decant pump; freeze-related issues were noted; and Nolt’s hauled 96,000 gallons of sludge.
Mr. Houser presented the water plant report; Mike Burnley moved to approve it and Mr. Zimmerman seconded. The motion carried unanimously. The board also approved the Jan. 8, 2026 meeting minutes (motion by Mike Burnley, seconded by Jerry Reeser) and voted unanimously to approve the sewer and water bills-to-pay lists and the sewer and water treasurer’s reports on motions recorded in the minutes.
Authority members reviewed fund balances and certificates of deposit. With no visitors or public comment recorded, the meeting adjourned at 5:30 p.m. The minutes were signed and submitted by Frank Howe, secretary/treasurer.
