Board approves temporary clubhouse sign for Briargate subdivision, requires removal after occupancy

The Lindenhurst Village Board on Feb. 22 approved a request from Pulte Homes to add a temporary clubhouse marketing sign to the Briargate subdivision sign package, with the condition that the sign be removed within 30 days of issuance of the clubhouse Certificate of Occupancy.
The Plan Commission reviewed the proposed addition to the Briargate signage package and provided a favorable recommendation with the removal condition. Trustee Dawn Suchy moved to approve Ordinance 21-2-2189 amending the Briargate signage plan originally dated Dec. 11, 2019; Trustee Bill Anderson seconded. The six trustees present voted aye and the ordinance passed.
Village code does not specify temporary signage standards for newly constructed residential subdivisions; the board’s action approves the limited marketing sign for the Briargate development (the "Village Green" property) subject to the Plan Commission’s condition. The ordinance identifies the sign as temporary marketing for the future clubhouse and requires removal once the clubhouse receives occupancy certification.
