City manager details sewer, water and park projects; playground replacement expected early 2025

Cook said the L Tunis sewer replacement project is active and residents will receive door-to-door notices when they face a temporary 24-hour service impact for sewer connections. He added that work on Rosemead Boulevard includes a major mainline water replacement and that associated traffic restrictions are expected to continue for another week or two.
On parks, Cook said the playground at Live Oak Park will be fenced off and removed next week; replacement equipment and shade structures are arriving and the city expects a new playground with a rocket feature to open in early 2025. He also reported that planned modular office relocations across from City Hall will not be necessary because the contractor and project team adjusted the roof schedule.
Cook described recent light-pole repainting on L Tunis (noting the paint material’s long lifespan) and new LED decorative lights installed by the county public works department. He said the pavement work and sidewalk repairs east of Inita are progressing and thanked the community for patience.
No action was required; the report was informational. Staff said they will continue to provide project updates at future meetings.
