Leacock Township Municipal Authority tables valve replacement research; sewer report notes 96,000 gallons of sludge hauled

The Leacock Township Municipal Authority met on March 5, 2026, and unanimously approved routine business including the February 5 minutes, bills to pay and both sewer and water treasurers’ reports. The meeting was called to order at 4:30 P.M. and adjourned at 5:00 P.M.

Bruce Ammon, the Authority’s sewer operator, presented the sewer report and listed operational notes: a new air valve motor was installed on tank No. 3, staff addressed freeze-related and power issues, and Nolt’s hauled 96,000 gallons of sludge. The Authority approved the sewer report on a motion by Mike Burnley, seconded by Jerry Reeser; the vote was recorded as unanimous.

Mr. Houser provided the water plant report, which the board approved on a motion by Mike Burnley seconded by Jerry Reeser. The board also approved the Sewer Bills to Pay Lists (motion by Mike Burnley, seconded by Frank Howe) and the Water Bills to Pay List (motion by Jerry Reeser, seconded by Willis Zimmerman). Each of those motions passed unanimously.

Financial oversight items were reviewed: fund balances and certificates of deposit were examined by the Authority but no specific transactions were recorded in the minutes. Frank Howe moved to approve the Sewer Treasurer’s Report (seconded by Jerry Reeser) and moved to approve the Water Treasurer’s Report (seconded by Willis Zimmerman); both motions passed unanimously.

On infrastructure follow-up, Jerry Reeser moved—and Mike Burnley seconded—to table further research on valve replacement. The motion passed unanimously, postponing that work to a future meeting.
