Board recommends special-use approval for adult day care at 906 Route 22

The Fox River Grove Village Board on Feb. 20 voted to recommend approval of Zoning Case 2024-01, which would allow an adult day care operator to expand into additional space at 906 Route 22.
Assistant Administrator Bechler told the board the Planning and Zoning Commission reviewed the petition on Feb. 7 and recommended approval. Petitioner Ms. Livesay-Smith said the plan would use about 7,000 square feet of additional space to provide adult day care services with roughly 10 activity rooms and Monday–Friday hours; the operation would be closed on weekends and holidays. Trustee Migdal noted that cafeteria food would be brought in and that no food preparation would occur on-site.
Trustee Hester moved to recommend the zoning case for approval at the next Board meeting; Trustee Schladt seconded. The roll-call vote was unanimous and the motion passed.
The Planning & Zoning recommendation now goes to the Village Board for final action at a future meeting as part of the formal zoning process.
