Rocky River CIC elects officers; treasurer says no active loan projects

The Rocky River Community Improvement Corporation elected a slate of officers and was told it currently has no active loan projects at its annual meeting on June 15, 2026, in the David J. Cook Council Chambers.

The membership approved, by roll call vote of 9-0, the following officers: Paul Shipp, president; Christina Morris, vice president; Jonathan Lindow, treasurer; and Lauren Oley, secretary. Ms. Havemann moved to elect the slate and Mayor Bobst seconded the motion. The clerk recorded nine ayes and zero nays.

The CIC, established in 2002 as a conduit for low-interest loans to finance community improvements, has funded two eligible projects to date: Lutheran West School (approximately $11 million) and the Unitarian Church (approximately $1.3 million). Treasurer Jonathan Lindow said there is 'very little going on' with the CIC; he reported the Unitarian Church debt was paid in full in Fall 2025 and that required filings with the Auditor of State were completed this past year.

President Shipp asked how community groups learn about the CIC and what it can offer. Mayor Bobst said they typically find the program through their financial advisors. Director Lindow characterized the CIC as another tool in the city's economic development toolbox, used often by some municipalities and more rarely by others, and said Rocky River retains the corporation in case a suitable project appears.

There was no unfinished or new business. Mr. Shipp moved to adjourn, Mr. Furry seconded, and the members voted 9-0 to adjourn. The meeting ended at 7:04 p.m.
