Daggett County MBA hears update on Dutch John water treatment plant; contractor enlarges tank footers

"They decided they needed to do some changes on the footers that hold those tanks within the floor system," the staff member said.
The staff member told the Municipal Building Authority the change is being handled as a construction change rather than a formal change order. "It fits within the budget," the staff member said, but added the county would return the matter to the commission for approval if costs exceed the project budget.
Engineers are adjusting the installation sequence and the staff member said work is proceeding on schedule with two new units expected. The authority did not take a formal vote on changing contract terms at the meeting; staff indicated they would seek commission approval if the change requires exceeding the approved budget.
The authority heard no public comment on the project during the meeting. The matter will be revisited if the contractor or staff determine the change order threshold has been reached.
