The solicitor explained that an alternate can sit in place of an absent board member and described the required agenda-amendment and appointment process. After a motion to amend the agenda, the council voted to appoint Mark Campbell as a zoning hearing board alternate and tabled consideration of other nominees for the planning committee until names are available.
