Township manager reports facility and equipment updates; zoning officer warns of unsafe event parking

Leacock Township Manager Chris Slaymaker reported at the March 16 Board of Supervisors meeting that the township meeting room is completed and carpets were cleaned, and that road-material bids have been advertised.
Public Works official Jim Houser told the board Trans Equipment has the township’s 2026 Mack dump truck scheduled for service beginning March 23, with an expected completion date of April 6; Houser said he will review specifications when the vehicle returns. He also reported that concrete work has begun for the Bird-In-Hand pump station genset.
Zoning Officer Joe Kennedy raised enforcement concerns after a February event at Linden Coffee, saying vehicles were parked on Route 340 and pedestrians walked between them, creating a hazardous situation. Kennedy said the business owner had agreed there were no events and that he is checking with the township solicitor; he told the board he will work out details and issue a Notice of Violation as appropriate. Kennedy also reported a scenic-road issue where a manure structure was not reflected on submitted plans.
No formal board action on enforcement was recorded other than directing the zoning officer to consult the solicitor and to proceed with enforcement steps as warranted. The meeting adjourned at 5:05 p.m.
