Superintendent David Roth presented the Buckeye Union School District’s 2024–25 Annual Parent Survey at the Aug. 20 Board meeting, reporting more than 1,800 responses and saying overall parent responses were "overwhelmingly positive." Board members asked clarifying questions about whether individual families submitted multiple responses.
Roth also updated trustees on facilities projects: a renovated kindergarten playground at Buckeye Union Elementary — funded with support from the El Dorado County Office of Education (EDCOE) — featuring new play structures, a shade-covered sandbox and turf; and the Rolling Hills kitchen project, described as nearly complete pending final inspections and expected to provide upgraded equipment and improved food-service efficiency.
Board Member Jon Yoffie asked about correlating negative comments in the survey with multiple entries per family; the superintendent and staff said they would continue to examine response patterns to inform planning. Board Member Melissa Keyzer reported on summer arts-integration work and noted Curriculum Director Rachelle Ball’s efforts to develop Prop 28–funded arts curriculum for all grade levels.
