Trustees reviewed and approved annual appropriation figures for Norwich Township’s funds, including the General Fund, cemetery accounts and revenue sharing, at a regular meeting earlier in the year. The clerk presented totals for each fund and trustees moved to adopt the appropriation resolution as presented.
Later in the year trustees addressed a failed fire levy. The clerk reported that the Franklin County Board of Elections certified the levy’s failure after the November ballot. Trustees discussed the insufficiency of a proposed four‑mill levy to fund department needs and, after deliberation, moved to withdraw a smaller levy proposal from the ballot rather than submit an inadequate request at that time.
Board members set preliminary and final budget hearing dates for the following fiscal cycle and asked staff to prepare detailed cost estimates for department equipment, training and insurance to support future levy planning.
