The clerk reported letters to mausoleum crypt owners asking them to respond about repairs; after discussion trustees voted to pay the new roof bill for the mausoleum as an obligation the board had contracted for. That motion passed with two trustees voting 'aye' and Chairman Webster D. Junk recording a 'nay'.
Trustees also discussed and approved erecting a fence with three gates at Wesley Chapel to protect cemetery property; they directed staff to work with the fence company on placement and to confirm access arrangements. Trustee James H. Rice moved that the township apply for the Veterans Service Center’s $25 per‑veteran marker setting reimbursement and to charge families the current $90 foundation cost; that motion carried.
Finally, trustees reviewed insurance bids for cemetery coverage and voted to accept the Ulen Insurance proposal after finding another bid omitted the requested cemetery professional‑liability coverage. The clerk was directed to confirm exact policy wording before purchase.
Board members said their actions were prompted by depleted maintenance funds, liability concerns and the desire to better protect township property while preserving veteran and resident access policies.
