The Lyons City Council on June 8 approved seasonal pool hires and employee pay increases following an executive session on annual reviews.
The council voted to appoint Landen Redding as assistant pool manager and to hire Skiler Watson as a lifeguard (motion by Jay Maddox, seconded by Matthew Carr; carried 3–0). Later in the meeting the council entered executive session at 7:02 p.m. to discuss annual reviews for three employees: Jesse Raabe, Nicole Frahm and Jorma Hedges. The council returned to open session at 7:16 p.m. and approved raises for each employee: a 5% raise for Jesse Raabe effective June 27, a 3.9% raise for Nicole Frahm effective July 10, and a 5% raise for Jorma Hedges effective July 11. All raises were approved on recorded motions with unanimous votes of those present (Phillips absent).
The minutes record the raises and effective dates but do not publish prior salaries or individual-performance details discussed in executive session. The clerk’s certification at the end of the minutes notes that minutes and materials are available for public inspection consistent with Open Meetings Act requirements.
