Crawford council approves SCADA bid advertisement, equipment purchase and routine financial reports

At its Nov. 24 meeting the Crawford City Council approved several operational items including advertising for formal bids to repair the water plant SCADA system, purchasing an alum delivery tank, accepting treasurer reports and approving claims and payroll.
Edward Blacksheep presented two repair quotes for the SCADA automation system and identified related cybersecurity and firewall needs. On motion by Patti Page, seconded by Dianne Gaston, the council directed staff to advertise for formal SCADA system bids so the city can solicit competitive proposals.
Blacksheep also presented three quotes for an alum delivery tank; the Tractor Supply quote was the lowest and one unit was on site. Council Member Christopher Dean moved to purchase the tank from Tractor Supply; motion seconded by Dianne Gaston and carried unanimously.
City Clerk Teri Miller presented the monthly and annual Treasurer’s reports; Miller said the annual report was published per requirements and the auditor is finishing adjustment entries from the prior audit and beginning the 2024–25 audit work. The council approved the Treasurer’s Report on a motion by Patti Page.
Council approved bills, claims and requisitions presented by staff and adjourned at 6:58 p.m. on a motion by Dianne Gaston.
