Crawford council adopts four resolutions allowing delinquent utility charges to become special assessments

The Crawford City Council on Oct. 28 approved a consent agenda that included four resolutions enabling the city to place delinquent water, sewer and use charges on property tax rolls as special assessments. The motion to approve the consent agenda was made by Council Member Patti Page and seconded by Council Member Dianne Gaston; the vote was unanimous among the three council members present.
The resolutions adopted were: Resolution 2025-07 (BLOCK: 7 LOT: 1, ADDITION: OT); Resolution 2025-12 (BLOCK: 15 LOTS: 6 and 7, ADDITION: PTC 1st); Resolution 2025-13 (BLOCK: 28 LOTS: 3 and 4, ADDITION: PTC 2nd); and Resolution 2025-14 (BLOCK: 21 LOT: 11, ADDITION: PTC 2nd). Council approved these measures as part of the consent agenda with no separate discussion recorded.
City Clerk Teri Miller had placed the items on the consent agenda; Council Member Page moved approval and Gaston seconded. The clerk’s published meeting notice and agenda were available to the public prior to the meeting. The council did not record any opposing votes. The actions will allow the city to pursue collection of delinquent utility balances through property assessments for the parcels listed in each resolution.
The council approved routine minutes, transport approval for Security First employees, and the resolution items together under the consent agenda. No additional motions or amendments related to the resolutions were recorded.
