The Crawford City Council unanimously adopted two personnel resolutions on Dec. 9 addressing holiday leave and part‑time sick leave.
Council approved Resolution 2025‑16 adopting modifications to the city's holiday leave list. Council then passed Resolution 2025‑17, which amended sick‑leave eligibility for part‑time employees to comply with the Nebraska Healthy Families and Workplace Act. Under Resolution 2025‑17, part‑time employees become eligible for up to 40 hours of sick leave per calendar year after working an initial 80 hours.
Council Member Christopher Dean moved both resolutions and Council Member Patti Page seconded; Dean, Page and Dianne Gaston voted AYE on each motion. Attorney Adam Edmund, participating by phone, confirmed that the change aligns the city's policy with the state law cited in the council discussion.
The resolutions take effect as approved Dec. 9; the city clerk will update personnel policy documents and implement any payroll adjustments required to reflect the change for eligible employees.
