Crawford council votes to move winter meetings to Legend Buttes Golf Course and join Community Forestry program

The Crawford City Council on Sept. 23 approved a resolution to hold its meetings at Legend Buttes Golf Course for the months between Oct. 14, 2025 and March 24, 2026.
Council Member Christopher Dean moved to adopt Resolution 2025-12 to move meetings to the golf course; Patti Page seconded the motion and the council voted unanimously (AYE: Dean, Page, Gaston).
Separately, the council agreed to participate in the Community Forestry program administered through Nebraska Urban & Community Forestry grants, the Nebraska Forest Service and the local NRD. Mayor April Grant said the program could provide the city with up to 50 trees and assistance with tree removal; Council Member Dianne Gaston moved to approve participation and the motion passed unanimously.
During public comment, Lisa Stocker asked that the council arrange seating (rows of chairs rather than round tables) and continue recording meetings at the alternate venue; Council Member Dean explained the move is for budgetary reasons, intended to save library staffing hours that would otherwise be required for meetings at the library.
The relocation resolution and the forestry participation were approved by unanimous voice votes. No changes to meeting times were recorded at this session.
