At the meeting, Councilman William Killian moved to approve the February 2, 2026 meeting minutes; Councilman Roy Bunson seconded and the committee approved the minutes 7-0. The committee then approved the reimbursement request to Roads for road and sign materials — "in the amount of $33,182.38" — on a 7-0 vote after a motion from Councilman Bobby Raines and a second from Councilman William Killian.
Devon Bagley, Public Works Director, gave updates on ongoing projects. On work completed in 2025, Bagley said, "They’ve all been completed, but their inspector is going to make sure everything looks as it is supposed to look according to plans," noting final inspections are still pending.
Bagley said bids for the 2026 road program were opened May 1, 2026; seven bids were received and the low bidder was Blythe Brothers Asphalt Company. "Their bid is currently being reviewed by AMT," she said.
On the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) Village Drive sidewalk project, Bagley said the project is stalled while waiting on the South Carolina Department of Transportation to complete pre‑engineering work. "We are still waiting on DOT to do their pre‑engineering. Currently nothing has moved forward with the Village Drive sidewalk project," she said.
During council comments, Councilman Killian asked Bagley to check whether the county can obtain and place signs warning drivers that "children play here," and how many signs could be installed in the neighborhood.
The committee adjourned after a motion from Councilman Raines, seconded by Councilman Bunson; Chairman Pete Wilson adjourned the meeting at 5:35 p.m.
Next steps noted in the meeting record include final inspections on 2025 work, AMT’s review of the 2026 low bid, and awaiting DOT pre‑engineering for the Village Drive sidewalk project.
