Sahuarita NJROTC named Area 20 distinguished unit; cadet leader reports 183 enrolled

Cadet Lieutenant Carson Derry, the battalion administrative officer for the Sahuarita NJROTC unit, updated the board on enrollment and recent honors. “We have a total of 183 cadets enrolled for the 2024–2025 school year,” Derry said, adding that 75 are new and 108 are returning; he provided a school-level breakdown of cadet enrollment among Sahuarita High School, Walden Grove High School and Sahuarita Middle School.
Derry and board members presented a certificate and the unit’s distinguished unit ribbon to recognize the program’s selection as Area 20 Most Outstanding Unit for 2023–24. Board members commended instructors and cadets for the distinction and for the program’s contributions to student development.
The recognition was a ceremonial agenda item; no new budget or programmatic decisions were made during the meeting.
