Assistant Superintendent Brett Bonner presented three recommended revisions to the Sahuarita Unified School District 2025–26 calendar and asked the board to publish the draft for community feedback. The proposed changes were: move the Tucson Rodeo break from Feb. 19–20 to Feb. 26–27 to align the day off with the parade; shift spring break so it runs March 16–20 to increase separation from the rodeo break; and move a spring holiday from April 3 to April 17 to better align with state testing windows and makeups.
Bonner said the revisions keep the district in compliance with state requirements for 180 instructional days and maintain roughly balanced semester day counts. Board members and administration emphasized the importance of posting the proposed calendar for public comment; the board moved and voted to table the calendar so staff can gather feedback and return with a recommendation at the March 5 meeting.
