Plain City honors Finance Director Renee Sonnett for 25 years; police hiring update and Tree City USA recognition noted

Mayor Jody Carney presented a proclamation on March 24 recognizing Finance Director Renee Sonnett’s 25 years with the Village of Plain City; Sonnett began employment on April 1, 2001 and thanked council and staff for the recognition.
Village Administrator Haley Lupton also thanked Sonnett for her leadership. Sonnett said she will be out later that week for annual training.
Police Chief Dale McKee reported that one officer candidate is slated to begin academy training in late April and that the department has reposted the remaining vacancy to attract more applicants. McKee also noted that Lieutenant Jaskiewicz, Sergeant Howard and Sergeant Prather recently attended a leadership training seminar.
Mayor Carney announced that Plain City has been designated a Tree City USA municipality and thanked Parks Assistant Denton Kitts for his work completing the application.
