Mr. Livingston described the trip as part of a 10‑year partnership: "This will be our second trip to Copenhagen," he said, noting the exchange has included visits to the district by Danish students and that Marshwood hosted exchanges previously. The itinerary includes attending classes at the Danish school, participating in the Model UN event and a United Global Education Network (UGEN) conference with students from multiple countries, plus cultural activities and host‑family stays.
Two chaperones were named in the presentation (Holly Clearary and Heidi), and administrators said packet materials include lodging information and emergency contact details for chaperones. Board members asked about participating countries and were told the number varies year to year but generally includes schools from about 10–12 countries.
The motion to approve the excursion carried on a recorded affirmative vote. Administrators described the trip as enriching for students and for broader school programming; board members noted the exchange’s role in global citizenship programming and in offering curricular opportunities tied to language, geography and civic learning.
