At a public hearing on RZ-24-2 on April 14, Plain City residents expressed concerns about a proposed rezoning that would change multiple parcels from Jerome Township zoning to Planned Unit Development (PUD).
Kathy Johnson, who lives at 8305 US-42, told council that her property includes a long driveway and that neighbors routinely use the driveway and adjacent grass as a turnaround. She said she was concerned the proposed development would increase turnaround activity, reduce safety, and harm property values for her and adjacent homeowners.
Julie McCarville spoke on behalf of Dan Block and asked that the commercial zoning classification of Mr. Block’s parcel (Union County parcel number 15-00190120010) be preserved on the public record.
The rezoning request covers multiple parcels (listed in staff materials) and was presented as a first reading; no council vote on the rezoning was taken at the meeting. The council will receive additional materials and testimony before any formal decision is made.
