The board approved the district’s 10‑year Long‑Term Facilities Maintenance (LTFM) plan required to access state LTFM funds and also approved including the district’s $21,507 proportionate share of Northeast Metro 916 Intermediate School District’s FY2028 LTFM program budget ($600,500 total).
Director Hennekens noted a recent HVAC issue at a campus rooftop unit in which a fan component failed and a belt burned, producing smoke and a short evacuation while repairs were scheduled; he said LTFM funds would contribute to the repair and that replacement lead times meant a new unit would not arrive until winter unless interim repair was done sooner.
On insurance, facilities and risk staff reported the district’s workers' compensation experience modifier has fallen to about 0.67 on a three‑year lookback, which helped keep renewal premium estimates favorable. Hennekens said the district’s long‑term partnership with Marsh & McLennan and United Heartland continues and the renewal package will be returned for June 30 approval.
What happens next: Staff will submit the approved LTFM plan to the state and pay the intermediate district share when state aid or levy proceeds are received. The workers’ compensation renewal will return at the next meeting for formal approval.
