At its Oct. 9 meeting, Page City Council approved routine business and several noncontroversial items by unanimous voice vote.
Council appointed Lily Crim to the Youth Advisory Council for a term ending June 30, 2026 after a motion, second and unanimous vote. Council also adopted a council-member liaison job description (with a minor spelling correction) clarifying that liaisons report to the full council, do not have authority to act for the entire council and should not participate in board votes unless specifically requested.
Council adopted proclamations recognizing the United States Navy's 249th birthday (Oct. 13) and declaring Oct. 13'19, 2024 as Cities and Towns Week. The council approved a special-event liquor license for the Grand Circle Arts Alliance as a courtesy notification (the state liquor board administers licenses). The meeting concluded with a motion to convene executive sessions for annual reviews of the city magistrate, city manager, city attorney and city clerk; Councilor Kenna Hedinger announced she would recuse from the first session.
All votes recorded at the meeting carried by unanimous voice vote of the members present; Councilor Richard Lightner was excused.
