At its Jan. 21 meeting the Richmond Select Board handled a bundle of routine agenda items, approving a Fourth of July raffle with financial-control conditions, granting a third-class liquor license to Sweet Simon's LLC, approving the town meeting warning and informational sessions, accepting several recent meeting minutes, amending a gravel purchase order and approving warrants.
The raffle approval included a requirement that financial controls be approved by the director of finance and the fund manager and that two-person cash-handling procedures be used during the event. "I move to approve the raffle fundraiser for the Fourth of July event with a condition that financial controls for the raffle be approved by the Director of Finance and the fund manager," a board member said; the motion carried.
The board also approved a third-class liquor license for Sweet Simon's LLC after members noted the business had expanded service to include spirits. Members then reviewed and approved the town meeting warning, set informational sessions for Feb. 8 (10 a.m.) and Feb. 24 (7 p.m., with Zoom), and made minor editorial changes to warning language. Minutes from Jan. 6, Jan. 7 and Jan. 13 were approved as presented.
Administratively, the board amended purchase order #4950 for road gravel and approved the warrants; members also discussed a small IRS penalty charge that appeared on recent warrants and noted it will be closed out.
