Commission approves EMS and departmental transfers; ambulance overtime and reimbursement lines adjusted

At the June 11 Coffee County Budget & Finance meeting, staff outlined several internal transfers to correct line-item coding and to fund ambulance overtime and related medical personnel costs.
Miss Mariana presented ambulance revenue and insurance payments (reported in the meeting as $103,509) and described transfers that move funds into overtime and medical-personnel lines, and a correction to Medicaid subsidy estimates. The item was described as routine reprogramming after staff realized one line had been miscoded; commissioners approved the adjustment as presented.
The committee also approved non-payroll transfers across county departments: shifting budget between full-time and part-time deputy lines, adding funds to county building maintenance, using proceeds from a property sale to fund jail maintenance, and moving part-time personnel dollars to the library line. Commissioners moved and seconded those transfers and approved them by voice vote.
Officials described the transfers as bookkeeping moves to keep budgets aligned with actual spending; staff said excess money that is not spent will return to the fund balance.
