Committee members said the discrepancy resulted from measurement practices used with the county's earlier GIS system in 2016 and from more precise survey data produced in 2026. The committee approved a variance permitting the feed pad to remain at 165 feet from the property line where the county standard is 200 feet, and a variance allowing the wastewater facility to remain at 197 feet where 300 feet is required.
The committee also reviewed staff introductions, cost‑share contracts and other routine items. Board members later thanked staff and the director for how the situation was handled and for catching the inconsistency in the survey measurements.
Because the action was taken at the committee level, it was reported out to the full board as part of committee reports; transcript records do not show a separate full‑board vote on the variance during this meeting.
