The Parker Town Council approved several administrative items during the meeting.
Council approved a support-services agreement with the Friends of the Library that authorizes the town to accept funds for the Parker Public Library. The Friends requested a five-year term; council members noted the contract contains a 30-day termination clause allowing either party to end the agreement. Staff cited Arizona statutes as the authority for accepting donations.
Council also approved Resolution 08-2025 designating the chief fiscal officer to submit the FY2026 expenditure limitation report to the Arizona Auditor General; staff explained the change corrects an earlier clerical error that had named the wrong employee for the submission role.
Finally, council moved, seconded and voted to enter executive session to discuss personnel matters related to Chief of Police Mike Bailey (employment assignment, appointment, promotion, demotion, dismissal, salary, discipline or resignation). The motion to go into executive session passed by voice vote and council recessed into the closed session.
Votes: the Friends of the Library agreement and Resolution 08-2025 passed on voice votes; the motion to convene executive session also carried.
