Council asks staff to prepare SRO agreement with West Carolton Schools for 2026–27

City staff asked the committee to authorize preparation of an annual agreement to continue a school resource officer (SRO) assignment with West Carolton City Schools for the 2026–2027 school year at West Carolton Intermediate School.
When a councilmember asked whether Officer Burns would continue in the assignment, Deputy Chief responded, “Yes, it is,” confirming Officer Burns will serve as the SRO under the proposed agreement. A motion to have legislation drawn up for the next council meeting carried on a unanimous roll-call vote.
The matter will return to council as an ordinance for formal approval.
