The commission also approved payments to Johnson Excavating — $37,000 charged to emergency funds for a temporary relief ditch and culvert installations at Fox Lake, and $4,500 for an earlier culvert repair on Ramsey Pike 4 — both of which passed on roll call.
Engineering and inspection items approved included payment of a $27,670.32 invoice from KLJ for thin‑lift preliminary and construction engineering, acceptance of a $40,000 KLJ contract for preliminary engineering on the Ramsey County pathway bike path (a project tied to a transportation grant), and authorization for the chairman and auditor to sign a bridge inspection agreement committing the county to the local share (19.7%).
In fiscal business, commissioners approved a $535,000 payment to the Nebo (Yellow Lake) School District to allow the district to meet a bond payment after staff reported significant administrative burden and time required to issue corrected tax statements; county staff said the county will recoup the funds later and that money was available without borrowing. The commission tabled routine financials until staff reconcile flood‑damage report entries.
All motions discussed in this article were approved by the commission; where roll calls were performed, commissioners Holdis, Frith, Brown and Wilhelm recorded unanimous 'Aye' votes.
