Lincoln County commissioners set 2026 meeting schedule, elect presiding officer and approve routine resolutions

The Lincoln County Board of Commissioners on Jan. 7 adopted a series of routine resolutions to govern the board’s operations for 2026, re-elected a presiding officer and approved several administrative items and claims.
The board unanimously adopted Resolution 2026-01, establishing each Wednesday as the regular meeting date for the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners and scheduling the third Wednesday of each month in the Eureka annex. Commissioners then re-elected Brent Tesky as the board’s presiding officer for 2026 after a nomination and voice vote.
The commissioners also approved Resolution 2026-02, which designates official physical posting locations for required public notices at the Libby courthouse entrances and the Eureka annex and permits supplemental posting on the county’s official website in accordance with MCA 7-1-2123. The body approved Resolution 2026-03 setting the county’s official holidays and the 2026 mileage and meal reimbursement rates, including the standard IRS-based mileage rate of 0.725 per mile.
The board approved a letter of support for the Tobacco Valley Board of History’s application to the Foundation for Montana History Grant Program to repair a museum boardwalk and wagon wheels; commissioners noted the museum is on county-owned property and operated by volunteers. They also approved moving forward with an application to replace and maintain county AEDs, supported submission of the grant application to secure nine new devices and an ongoing maintenance program, and approved the final claim of $87,134.16 to Advanced Roofing for a full roof replacement at the county campus facility used by Flathead Valley Community College.
The actions were routine, largely uncontested and intended to ensure compliance with state posting and meeting requirements and to maintain county assets and public safety equipment.
The board recessed for public comment and returned to planning items later in the agenda; the next scheduled meeting dates were confirmed during the adoption of Resolution 2026-01.
