Douglass Planning Agency reviews subdivision sketch, extension request and revitalization walkabout

The Douglass Township Planning Agency on Sept. 11 received updates on administrative and planning items including a variance-extension request, a subdivision sketch plan and neighborhood revitalization efforts.

Manager Andrew Duncan told the agency that Terralead at 115 W. Moyer Road is seeking a 12-month extension of a previously granted variance; the item was recorded as an administrative update and no formal action by the planning agency was documented. Duncan also reported that Rotelle purchased the 9-acre parcel at 330 Gilbertsville Road and submitted a sketch plan proposing three single-family dwellings; revised sketch plan materials are pending.

Agency members held a walkabout on E. Philadelphia Avenue earlier that evening as part of a mailbox revitalization project; the next workshop on that topic is scheduled for Oct. 9 at 6:00 p.m. Naomi Crimm, representing the regional planning commission, and others noted that the Pottstown Metro Regional Planning Commission had discussed Douglass Township's zoning ordinance and requested a letter of support; PMRPC also covered agritourism and solar farm topics. Staff reviewed several outstanding subdivision deadlines (Holly Road; 650 Englesville Road/Madison Walk; 749 Congo Road; 115 W. Moyer Road) that remain awaiting final plan submissions or revisions.

There were no public comments during the meeting. The agency adjourned at 7:33 p.m.; the next regular meeting is scheduled for Oct. 9, 2025 (workshop at 6:00 p.m., meeting at 7:00 p.m.).
