Douglass Planning Agency forwards zoning‑ordinance updates to supervisors, schedules mailbox revitalization workshop

The Douglass Township Planning Agency voted to recommend that the draft Zoning Ordinance updates be forwarded to the Board of Supervisors for review and potential approval at the supervisors’ July 21, 2025 meeting.
Agency members discussed the draft updates during the July 10 meeting and heard that the township’s zoning consultant and presenters had briefed regional peers. Joe Richardson complimented a presentation by Ms. Crimm on the township’s zoning update during the Pottstown Metro Regional Planning Commission briefing. The regional update also noted that New Hanover recently changed zoning rules to address density concerns.
The agency also set a workshop on revitalization issues, including replacement or consolidation of mailboxes along Philadelphia Avenue, for Sept. 11, 2025 at 6 p.m. The workshop will review follow‑ups from the June meeting and gather local input on mailbox placement and aesthetics.
The recommendation to forward the zoning draft to the Board of Supervisors is procedural: the Planning Agency is an advisory body and the supervisors will have final authority on any ordinance changes.
