Douglass Township authorizes $829,625.43 in payments, opens Capital Reserve Fund and approves budget amendment

Treasurer Cynthia O'Donnell told the Board on May 19 that unpaid bills as of May 16 totaled $829,625.43, an amount that includes a $196,484.32 fire tax payment to Gilbertsville Fire & Rescue and a $281,383.10 Leeboy paver purchased by the township that the Treasurer said will be reimbursed by a Local Shares (LSA) grant.
A motion by Vice-Chair Sara Carpenter to authorize payment of the unpaid bills passed unanimously (Bergstresser-Aye, Stouch-Aye, Carpenter-Aye). O'Donnell also presented Budget Amendment #1, which increases Highway overtime by $5,000, adds $600 for highway department training, removes a planned $18,000 Liquid Fuels sale of Truck #6 while keeping the asset, adjusts Liquid Fuels income by $3,275.73, increases salt/snow-and-ice funding by $30,600, and transfers $167,051 from Highway Construction & Rebuild to Maintenance & Repairs (Roads & Bridges).
The Treasurer said she is opening a Capital Reserve Fund to track expenses for the County Line Road Bridge project. The Board approved Budget Amendment #1 on a motion recorded as passed by the three supervisors.
