Douglass supervisors authorize construction and access easements for County Line Road Bridge project

The board voted to authorize formal execution of those easements; the motion passed with Supervisors Don Bergstresser, Josh Stouch and Vice-Chair Sara Carpenter voting Aye.
Mr. Stouch said the township expects to learn in November whether it will receive a grant to cover replacement costs; if a grant is awarded, the township plans to advertise the project for bids. "If all goes accordingly, the bridge is expected to reopen next year," Stouch said.
The board did not set a construction contract or timeline at the meeting; McKenna and township staff said the next steps depend on grant funding and the competitive bidding process required for municipal construction contracts.
