The board discussed notifying alternates and that the highest vote-getter in the next relevant election who accepts the seat would fill the vacancy if applicable.
Members asked staff to include alternates when advertising committee openings and suggested reaching out to experienced residents who might be willing to serve as planning-board alternates.
