Lee County Golf Association offers fundraising and operations help for Giddings Golf Course

Harris thanked staff for cooperation and said the association, which represents about 325 members on a 9-hole track, would like to consult with the city, assist in fundraising and support course management. He asked the golf course to implement tee times (particularly for Fridays, Saturdays and holidays), consider a weekend course marshal to enforce rules on busy days, and explore turf-management improvements including use of a green-sand mixture for greens.
Harris said LCGA has placed a new ball washer for members and offered to help behind the scenes to improve the member experience. Interim City Manager Heather Garner and Golf Course Supervisor Jason Kessler were present; no formal council action was taken on the requests.
What happens next: Council may refer the association's suggestions to staff for operational review and return with cost and implementation details if requested.
