Park County commissioners March 24 approved several routine personnel and administrative items.
Elections staff requested an annual short‑term hire (under 90 days) to help process ballots and provide extra hands on primary and general election days; the commission approved hiring the seasonal worker.
County human resources and finance staff asked to extend the deadline for select employees to use carryover vacation through Dec. 31, 2026, citing staffing shortages and the difficulty of scheduling time off. The commission approved extensions for the specific requests submitted by department heads.
Staff also explained that a 5% contract increase for union members required an adjustment to the sheriff’s discretionary pay table to maintain statutory pay relationships; the increase amounted to $3,841.52 and commissioners approved the change.
The Solid Waste Board recommended appointing Jared Pattingale to a three‑year term; commissioners accepted the recommendation by voice vote.
Commissioners also approved meeting minutes for March 17, 2026 before adjourning.
