Lincoln County commissioners approve engineering agreement, vehicle purchase and permit recommendations in routine April 27 session

Resolution No. 2026-13: Commissioners corrected a project number and adopted Resolution No. 2026-13, authorizing the chair to sign a Preliminary Engineering Services Agreement with JEO Consulting Group Inc. for Project DPS-56(40), a Lincoln County crossroads study. The original motion was withdrawn to correct the project number before the board approved the resolution by a 5-0 roll-call vote.
Contract authorization: The board authorized the chair to sign a contract with Western Engineering Company, Inc. for LCDOR Project 2026-01; the motion passed by a 5-0 roll-call vote.
Vehicle procurement: The board reviewed informal bids for a civil process vehicle for the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department and accepted Janssen’s bid for a 2023 Jeep Grand Cherokee for $26,199. Commissioners recorded bids from multiple sellers before approving Janssen’s offer by a unanimous vote.
Liquor licensing and permits: The board approved a special designated liquor permit submitted by North 40 Chophouse LLC for a Nebraskaland Days fundraiser to be held June 12, 2026, at The Farmhouse Event venue. Separately, the board made a favorable recommendation to the Nebraska Liquor Control Commission for a Class D liquor license application from Fast Stop #1151 Inc. after manager Vicky Uzdill appeared and Sheriff Kramer said he had no objection.
Courthouse exterior lighting: The board discussed an informal bid of $70,276.73 from Hall’s Electric for courthouse exterior lighting and indicated interest in pursuing grant funds; no action was taken on the project during the meeting.
Minutes, receipts and claims: The board approved minutes from its April 20 meeting, received and filed the treasurer’s receipts and approved claims and payroll as presented. The meeting adjourned at 11:11 a.m.
