Town Administrator Cheryl Campbell told trustees at the June 2 meeting that the 'Fun Under the Sun' kids event will take place Saturday, June 13, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., with setup beginning at 9:30 a.m. She also said human resources requested a staff meeting on June 18 and that the first mosquito spraying would occur that evening if weather permitted.
Police Sgt. Ken Amick reported that Police Chief Black was out; Officer Vogl is nearly finished with training, and Seana MacGregor is awaiting delivery of body armor before beginning street patrol training. Until then, MacGregor is completing CIRSA training and departmental systems training.
Town Attorney Amy Penfold briefed the board on pending state matters, noting that Governor Jared Polis has until June 12 to veto recently passed legislation; she said she will provide a summary for the board after the veto period expires. Penfold also mentioned that a court upheld the City of Boulder’s camping ban and that Flock camera systems are currently under scrutiny, although Garden City does not have Flock cameras.
Other business: trustees settled food arrangements for the upcoming work session and heard from Trustee Gary Sorensen about vehicle traffic on an easement adjacent to his home. Announcements included the Colorado Municipal League conference scheduled for June 22–25 in Westminster.
The meeting record contains no further operational details, such as a schedule for police training completions, dates for the planned work sessions, or specifications about the mosquito spraying contractor.
