The Jefferson Select Board on Dec. 1 accepted the town’s 2026 Animal Control contract by a 3-0 vote and approved town expense warrants totaling $82,219.15, according to meeting minutes.
On records management, staff recommended against immediately scanning all building and plumbing permits into the TRIO system; instead, Tabby and Hailee will break down existing binders and refile permits into hanging files organized by map and lot. The board agreed to defer full scanning to a later date.
The board also announced the Town Office will close at 11:00 a.m. on Dec. 2 because of an incoming winter storm and asked staff to post the closure on the town website before leaving the meeting. A potential delayed opening on Dec. 3 will depend on guidance from the State and AOS 93.
On budgeting, Select Board member Robert Clark said he will coordinate with Wayne Parlin, chair of the school committee, so school and town budgets will be ready together for the Annual Town Meeting on April 21, 2026.
The minutes record entry into executive session at 6:06 p.m. for a personal matter and adjournment at 6:28 p.m.
