The Jefferson Select Board on Aug. 25 reviewed engineering recommendations for the town’s salt shed and preliminary cost information for Glidden Bridge.
Pamela Grotton said the salt-shed report recommended cutting several trees near the structure and adding more slope away from the shed. Road Commissioner Wayne Parlin gave a rough concrete-cost estimate of about $18,000 to address slope and concrete work; he was asked to obtain firm bids and to consult Robert before work proceeds.
On Glidden Bridge, the engineering report included a culvert-only estimate of $78,000. Pamela Grotton said she will arrange a site visit with Eric, Wayne Parlin and Claudia Orff-Reed to assess options.
Separately, resident Dana Bond reported exterior lights at the Town Office are now aimed toward his house; the board asked staff to check with Darin Walker and the Fire Department for equipment to reach and redirect the fixture.
No formal capital-authorization votes were taken at the Aug. 25 meeting; the board instructed staff to gather estimates and return with recommendations.
