"Shoshana Merced will invite Susan Bysiewicz, Steve Weir, Cathy Osten and Joe Courtney — will invite all and inform commission who can attend/choose guest speaker," the minutes state.
Members discussed outreach channels and invite lists that include the Rivereast News Bulletin, Chatham Health, Richmond Memorial Library, neighboring senior centers (Colchester, East Hampton, Hebron, Glastonbury, Andover, Bolton), and organizations such as NCAAA, CRT, AARP, DSS and the Bureau on Aging. The commission identified potential sponsors including Marlborough Health and Rehabilitation, Addison Place Glastonbury and Colebrook Village; Merced volunteered to draft a sponsor request letter, and Donna Mosher agreed to research food‑truck costs and time slots.
Agenda planning items agreed by the commission included an opening ceremony, guest‑speaker introduction and ribbon cutting; recognition of the previous director (Barb Armfield will invite V. Schwarzmann); a tabling map for inside/outside placement and parking; a brochure listing sponsors and history; and collecting historical documents and interviews to assemble the center's history.
Next steps recorded in the minutes include assigning Dianne Greco to set up the Save‑the‑Date email and signup link, Merced drafting the sponsor letter, Mosher researching food trucks, and staff collecting historical materials and interviews to support the anniversary program.
