Assessor's plan and permits: County Assessor and Planning & Zoning Coordinator Michele Bartlett presented the Assessor's 2027 three-year plan required by state statute; the board approved the plan on a motion by Commissioner Jean Timm, seconded by Commissioner William Klingman. Bartlett also presented four Planning & Zoning Board-approved building permits that the commissioners each approved by motion: Permit 2026-09 (Glen Cichy, barndominium on PID 1073.10); Permit 2026-10 (Christopher Jones, pole barn on PID 1091.10); Permit 2026-11 (Michael and Adrianne Coffey, single-family home on PID 759.00); and Permit 2026-12 (New Cingular Wireless equipment replacement/removal on PID 770.00).
ARPA partnership for Big Springs Fire Hall parking: Brian Armstrong, representing the Big Springs District Fire Department, requested the county partner on paving the handicapped-parking area at the Big Springs Fire Hall. The fire department agreed to pay to pave the portion of the lot beyond the handicapped-parking area. The commissioners approved the partnership, using previously allocated ARPA funds for the handicapped-accessible portion while the fire department covers the remainder (motion by Commissioner William Klingman; second by Commissioner Jim Reichman).
Personnel action and claims: Following an executive session concerning a personnel matter, the board voted to reinstate the employee dismissed at its June 2 meeting, saying the issue had been resolved satisfactorily; the employee's name does not appear in the record. The board then read and approved payroll and claims in the amount of $224,844.71 (payroll $37,109.97; claims $187,734.74). The meeting record includes detailed line items and several large vendors and insurance entries.
