Wymore council approves minutes, payroll items, flag agreement, EMS certification and door replacement

The Wymore City Council approved routine business and several specific motions at its Jan. 3 meeting.
The council approved the minutes of the prior meeting on a motion by Council person Max Allen, seconded by Sue Sapp (motion carried 4-0). The council then approved claims and payroll generally on a motion by Allen, seconded by Sapp, excepting checks 27812, 27817, 27821 and 27842; that motion carried 4-0. The four held checks were later addressed individually: checks 27812 and 27842 were approved on a motion by Sue Sapp, seconded by Curt Oblinger (carried 3-0 with Max Allen abstaining); check 27817 was approved on a motion by Max Allen, seconded by Sue Sapp (carried 3-0 with Neil Van Boening abstaining); and check 27821 was approved on a motion by Max Allen, seconded by Sue Sapp (carried 3-0 with Curt Oblinger abstaining).
In other business, on a motion by Max Allen seconded by Neil Van Boening, the council approved a 2024 flag agreement with Southern Youth Basketball for $500 (carried 4-0). The council also approved Wymore EMS Annual Certification under the Volunteer Emergency Responders Incentive Act in a motion by Neil Van Boening, seconded by Sue Sapp (carried 4-0).
Tim presented an estimate from Fairbury Glass to replace the Community Center front door for the City Office at a cost of $4,210; Tim said he had not obtained other estimates. On a motion by Sue Sapp, seconded by Max Allen, the council approved using office equipment funds to pay the Fairbury Glass estimate.
Tim also presented information on the Grid Resiliency Grant Program. The council approved submitting the pre-application and preliminary project proposal on a motion by Max Allen, seconded by Sue Sapp (carried 4-0).
Sue Sapp moved to adjourn at 7:38 p.m.; the motion passed and Mayor Collin Meints and City Clerk Janet Riensche signed the record.
