Wymore council appoints Krystal Rut as city treasurer, accepts resignation of Melissa Wach

The Wymore City Council accepted the resignation of City Treasurer and Deputy City Clerk Melissa Wach and appointed Krystal Rut to replace her during its Dec. 6 meeting. The resignation was approved unanimously (motion by Councilmember Max Allen, second by Curt Oblinger).
The appointment of Krystal Rut as City Treasurer/Deputy City Clerk was made by motion of Councilmember Sue Sapp, seconded by Max Allen; the appointment carried with a 3-0 vote and Curt Oblinger abstaining. Council then approved a separate motion to add Rut as an authorized signer on all current city bank accounts, replacing Wach (motion by Max Allen, second by Sue Sapp); that motion carried 4-0.
Earlier in the meeting council approved Resolution 2023-08, the year-end certification for City Street Superintendent Keith Gilmore (motion by Max Allen, second by Curt Oblinger), by a 4-0 vote. Council also completed a series of claims and payroll approvals, including separate approvals for individual checks with recorded abstentions where noted.
First referenced as Mayor Collin Meints when the meeting was called to order, council records show the personnel and banking motions were made during the regular session and will be reflected in updated city records and bank signature lists. The council indicated the changes take effect immediately for administrative purposes.
