Franklin’s Conservation Commission used its June 18 meeting to plan public outreach at the town farmers market, agreeing to pursue a branded tent or awning, order field books, stickers and stamps for giveaways, and produce updated posters and easels.
Staff and commissioners assigned responsibilities: a staff member offered to coordinate printing and easel purchases, Jordan will work on QR codes and the event‑sign‑up spreadsheet, and commissioners agreed to staff market dates (including July 17 and Oct. 30). The commission discussed using social‑media support through the town communications director for event promotion and a hashtag scavenger hunt to drive youth engagement.
Separately the commission reviewed vendor options and styles for commission vests (Eddie Bauer vs. Ridgeline) and agreed to order Eddie Bauer “gray steel” vests with the Conservation Commission logo, pending final sizing and cost confirmation.
What happens next: staff will finalize art/QR codes, order the promotional materials and vests, publish market presence through the communications director and circulate the staffing spreadsheet for signups.
