Board approves manure-structure expansion, sets rezoning hearing and approves road closure

Separately, the board set a public hearing on a rezoning matter for July 6 at 10:00 a.m. at the annex. The motion to set the hearing passed on a roll-call vote.
On administrative items, supervisors unanimously approved the consent agenda, which included last week’s minutes and a tobacco license for Country Express. They also approved a tax-suspension information request letter for Jennifer Munet (staff will request HHS verify eligibility after the passing of a spouse; any suspension would require a future formal action) and approved a road-closure request from Fort Atkinson for an event that closed a county road Sept. 25–27.
Board members discussed a county-conservation coordination item and an auditor issue: they noted the county returned more than $2 million to HHS during a prior closing and that the state auditor later sought additional funds; officials said the governor may need to sign off on forgiveness for any additional audit assessments.
